Able offers a bespoke design, development and manufacture service to customers with specific requirements which cannot be met by standard printer based products.
Major development projects carried out include:
Automatic bill reading (OCR) and overprinting machine for a major utility company.
Passbook printer using ink-jet technology.
Railway ticket printing system.
Bank note overprinting system for a foreign bank.
Reverse ticket printer for a mobile telecoms operator.
The above represent significant projects undertaken for volume manufacture. However, Able can also adapt standard printers for lower volume applications or to meet specific requirements. We can adapt our printers to meet exact communication protocols, connectivity and printing performance required by our customers. Or, offer custom communication cables, logo overprinting and/or even offer special colour cases.
Examples
For the emergency services the Ap1300 has been modified and supplied as a customised kit to be used to print tickets and penalty notices. To meet higher security standards they had to be modified to allow for 8 digit pin codes instead of 4. Special yellow paper was supplied and boxed kits included an AC adapter, spare paper rolls and a start-up guide.
To meet a specific customer requirement for high standards of cleanliness in the medical field, the Ap25 was produced with a special grade white finish suitable for mounting in an autoclave.
The Ap863-F mini-printer was configured as a chart recorder to use with interactive resuscitation training equipment. It provides a record of pulse rate and respiration readings, allowing the trainee’s performance to be monitored and a hard copy kept. The Ap863’s microcontroller also allows customers to specify bespoke character sets and special set-up requirements
